We were commissioned by the Australian Building Codes Board to investigate the new Deemed-To-Satisfy requirements in BCA2010. In essence, we were contracted to set the goal posts to make sure the requirements for Deemed-To-Satisfy assessments were roughly equal to the requirements for Thermal Simulation assessments. This involved literally hundreds of modelling simulations in different climates to check for equivalence. There’s not much we can say about it without repeating ourselves, so here’s the report, showing how the DTS requirements stack up to a full Star Rating!
